Getting to Crete... or the Many Hours Spent Travelling

2 hour drive to Harrisburg
2 hours waiting on the train to New York
4 hours spent on the train from Harrisburg to New York
1 hour from Penn Station to JFK
3 hours waiting for our flight to Rome
9 hours spend on an Alitalia jet getting to Rome
30 min train ride from the Rome airport to Roma Termini
1 hour lost in some sketchy neighborhood outside Roma Termini
4 hours wandering around Rome
30min train ride from Roma Termini back to Fiumicino (aka Rome Airport)
1.5 hours waiting around for our check-in time
1 hour trying to find a post office in the airport so Risé could mail her postcards
1 hour spent waiting in line to check-in for our flight
2 hour flight to Athens
30min picking up our baggage
9 hours sleeping/waiting for our flight from Athens to Iraklion (Heraklion)
50 minutes in an Aegean Airlines flight to Iraklion
1 hour for the shuttle from Iraklion to Rethymno, Crete

Brings us to a grand total of.... 44 hours!
